Volunteers needed for Meals on Wheels program

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE HOME DELIVERED MEALS PROGRAM;

ORIENTATION SCHEDULED ON MAY 17, 2022

(Placerville, California) – The El Dorado County Seniors Nutrition Program is currently seeking dedicated and caring volunteers for the Meals on Wheels program. Each volunteer typically works one day a week on an assigned route, delivering meals between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. An orientation session for potential new volunteer drivers is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. a.:00 p.m. at the Placerville Senior Center, located at 937 Spring Street in Placerville.

The El Dorado County Seniors Nutrition Program is one of several national seniors nutrition programs funded under the Older American Act of 1965. “We are very proud that this program is available to local residents,” said Ruth Green, Senior Nutrition Program Coordinator. “The program addresses an important nutritional and social need for local participants, and the volunteer Meal Meal Drivers are another link in our community’s seniors support network. I hope those interested in volunteering will consider attending the orientation on May 17th.
