Trisha Yearwood No-Bake Chocolate, Pretzel and Peanut Butter Squares are an easy 4th of July dessert

Heading out for a 4th of July barbecue in a few hours and need a dessert to bring? Forget about stopping for a store-bought dessert. Make Yearwood No-Bake Chocolate, Pretzel & Peanut Butter Squares.

According to Food network, the squares are ready to eat in about an hour and 15 minutes. Better yet, only 17 minutes of this time is considered “active”. The rest is the time it takes for the squares to settle in the fridge.

The preparation of the dessert takes only a few minutes. Using a food processor, Yearwood crushes the pretzels. Then she combines them in a bowl with peanut butter and sugar. The mixture becomes the bottom layer of the squares.

Then the Southern cuisine of Trisha the host adds a combination of melted chocolate and peanut butter on top. Finally, the bars go in the refrigerator. An hour later, what Yearwood called “the best cup of peanut butter you’ve ever had in your life” is ready.

Yearwood is a huge fan of this particular recipe.

“It’s one of my favorite desserts for so many reasons,” she once said on her Food Network cooking show. “One, it’s easy to do. It’s a no-bake thing. Anyone Can Do It. Second, who doesn’t love peanut butter, pretzels, sugar and butter? “

The singer and cookbook author went on to say, “It doesn’t really get any easier than that. Something you don’t have to cook that tastes so amazing. She uses the food processor, the microwave (to melt the chocolate and peanut butter) and a few kitchen staples to make the squares. The no-bake appearance makes them an even better summer dessert, but they can certainly be made any time of the year.

The Grammy winner and cooking show host loves this sweet and savory treat, just like the others. At the time of publication, Yearwood’s recipe has five stars on the Food Network website. It’s been reviewed 213 times and people are raving about the bars almost as much as they are about Yearwood.
