The two Bedfordshire restaurants named in the 2022 Michelin Restaurant Guide


Two Bedfordshire restaurants have been named in the prestigious Michelin Restaurant Guide 2022.

Steve Barriger’s Eileens in Ampthill and Paris House in Woburn have secured a place in the guide.

Eileens has been praised by the prestigious brand for its intimate size and successful menu.

The guidebook description says: “This charming little restaurant has just eight tables and is named after Steve’s grandmother, who inspired his career as a chef.

“Two monthly-changing tasting menus feature complex dishes — often with a seasonal ingredient used in several different ways — and the flavors are bold and rich.”

Meanwhile, Paris House, located in Woburn Park, has been praised for its creativity.

The guide’s description of the restaurant says: “A beautiful mock Tudor house built in Paris and reassembled in idyllic grounds; have a drink on the terrace while watching the deer.

“Tasting menus offer creative and complex dishes with challenging flavor combinations. Alternate menus are available for those with specific dietary needs.”

TripAdvisor customers have praised the restaurant for its dining experience. One review reads: “What a wonderful experience from start to finish. Outstanding hospitality and service from all the staff, especially the sommelier (who was not only knowledgeable and experienced, but fun and responsive).
