‘Be Downtown’ on June 5 in Bettendorf includes groups, bags, bites and drinks

the Bettendorf city center organization (DBO) will once again present its “Be Downtown” event from 9:30 am to 10 pm, on Saturday 5 June, in downtown Bettendorf.

Be Downtown will be held on Saturday, June 5 at 15 and State Streets in downtown Bettendorf.

Located in the city parking lot at 15th and State Street, this free, family-friendly event will feature multiple bag tournaments with cash prizes, outdoor music, food and drink vendors, and activities for kids. children and more. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.

The day starts at 9:30 am with 1031 Fitness presenting a free 45-minute high-intensity (HIT) workout. Afterwards, the K&K Family Fun Zone will be set up with food trucks, inflatable houses, face painting and other family entertainment provided by the Bettendorf Library.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase from Capriotti’s vendors, Here’s the Scoop, QC FUEL, and Smokin ‘Butt BBQ. Verde, a new contemporary Mexican restaurant located at The Bridges, will provide food and an outdoor bar for the sale of liquor and other beverages.

The Downtown Bettendorf organization is organizing the free and family-friendly festival.

Be Downtown will feature three separate bag tournaments at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Each tournament will award cash prizes for first ($ 300), second ($ 150) and third ($ 50) places. Participants can register online in advance at http://bit.ly/BeDTBags. There is no cost to enter. Registration for each tournament takes place one hour before its start.

Starting at 11 a.m., live music will be provided in two-hour ensembles throughout the day by area bands Been There Done That, Class of ’82, Threat Level Midnight and Rude Punch. Late night live music will continue at two businesses in downtown Bettendorf, including Purgatory’s Pub with Bad Hair and Harley Corrin’s with Daylight Over.

Verde is a new contemporary Mexican restaurant at The Bridges, 1507 State St., Bettendorf.

Parking for the event will be accessible on several lots in downtown Bettendorf, including:

  • 15th St. and Grant St. (TBK Bank building land)
  • 18e St. and Mississippi St. (Asbury Methodist Church lot)
  • 18th St. and Grant St. (city lot of Bettendorf)
  • Bettendorf Town Hall
  • Motorcycle parking at 15e St. will also be available.
